Filtering

These pictures are of my son. I used the spikey warp filter to add some dimention to these pictures. I also used the clarify mode to make the picture a little clearer and pop a little more. I like how the filter is warping around the edges and not around his face.

portrait pictures

In these pictures I was at my nephews wedding. I had a hard time getting the color to be crisp and clear. They all seem to be a little yellow in color. Since the wedding was inside, maybe the lighting was the cause for this. Also, I noticed in a few of the pictures there is a shadow around thier faces. I learned in this class the way to avoid this is to move a little farther away from the wall and this will eliminate this. Kids are always distracted by something else in the room. So trying to get my great-niece to look at the camera, and not the commotion around the room was difficult. All in all I am OK with the pictures, but wish they were more professional looking.

Watermark

OK, now I'm starting to have fun. In the orginal picture, I just went off my Burn and Dodge picture. I decided to do a watermark. I choose to use another picture and apply it to the upper left corner of the picture. I was going to leave it really faint but decided to increase the opacity and make it a bit darker so that it was more visable. I also embossed the picture to add a little demention to the picture.

Burn and Dodge

Im trying to catch up, the GIMP doesn't work well with my operating system so I'm a little behind. As you can see in this picture I lightened their faces using the Dodge technicque and I darkened the water using the Burn technique. I think that it really makes thier faces pop out of the water.

Added Text

In this picture I did both cloning to get rid of a pickup truck in the background and I added text to the picture.
