Ok, here I go again. In the first picture I centered my niece and it is harder to see the beautiful background. In the second picture I used the rule of thirds and had her set to the left of the picture. As you can see, more of the background is visable.
Love the picture. Never came to mind that the thirds technique would be so you can also enjoy the background that might be in the photo. I guess if you want just a portrait, you wouldn't do the third's, but anyway, very nice photos
